This kind of process can be used in variety of applications such as for manufacturing , electric power generation and air conditioning.


Types Of Water Cooling Towers


There are basically two types of water cooling towers – open and closed.
→  Open Water Cooling Tower are also known as direct cooling towers which permits water to come in contact with external air. The cooled water will come back but a lot of water have been vaporise so to compensate that level, they need more water. This type of water cooling towers carry out a filtration process in order to prevent external pollutants entering into the water.

→ Closed Water Cooling Tower are also known as indirect cooling tower, which is exactly opposite of the open cooling towers. It is not permit water to directly come in contact with anything outside of the tower additionally with heat exchangers. The hot water which will be cooled by passing through a heat exchange with the tower beside water that needs to be cool down. This process ensure that the water remain pure from any kind of external substances.

Factors Affecting Water Cooling Towers Efficiency

However, to reprocess a huge amount of water all through the process there are many ways due to which water is lost. So how is water lost?

→ Evaporation  - It is the important process in water cooling tower to work, but still contemplate a origin of water loss thus evaluating the rate of evaporation is important.

→ Overflow – This will happen when water inside a water cooling tower exceed pre-set level. So in order to prevent water loss, regularly check the water levels which will ultimately minimise the amount of water wastage.

→ Splash Out – It is also known as Windage, this situation might arise when water is lost by splashing inside a tower. It may arises due to wind and needs working towards a solution if it extremely affecting the efficiency of the tower.

There are many another ways to lose water and the minimise the efficiency of a tower, like leakages, which might not at all visible.
