A hardness tester is create with the intend to evaluate the hardness of a material. Hardness tester is an industrial product and used in manufacturing sections. It is also suitable to test the hardness of bulk quantities as well. Hardness tester provide accurate outcome and high performance. Steps to know How to use a Hardness Tester -
→ Setup a Hardness tester
The first and foremost step is to carefully setup a hardness tester. It should be place at right position so that you will get accurate results. Now check the dial by turning the bezel.
→ Turn the Hand Wheel
After installation of hardness tester turn the hand wheel slowly. Now you will see a minor pressure on the penetrator , don’t get panic it is normal.
→ Set the barrel
It is key step for setting a hardness tester. Spin the barrel dial till its pin gets reset. Always keep in mind that the upper line of a barrel always be equivalent to the hairline of a magnifier. Spin the dial until pin is reset to the upper fringe of magnifier. This will help in achieving an accurate result at short period of time.
→ Apply the load
To get the appropriate result turn the wheel properly. You can observe the result through magnifying glass. It is easy to operate a hardness tester by using these mentioned steps properly.
By following above mentioned steps , people can easily operate hardness tester. You have to carefully setting up the things because negligence may lead to danger.
