Significance Of Fire Fighting system In Our Daily Lives




Many commercial and non-commercial buildings contain fire fighting systems to stop the extend of fire which may cause destruction of goods and loss of life. Every movie theatres , shopping malls and offices are provide with required equipment to extinguish fires. There are few resources like alarms , indicators , smoke diverts , monitors and extinguishers. Fire fighting systems and fire protection systems are two types of systems used to stop fire fighting systems.

There are many ways and appliances used to fight and extinguish fire. The equipment are different as per the type and factors causing it. Few equipment which are used are hose reel system , automatic carbon-dioxide systems , sprinkler systems , fire intercom systems , flow switches and so forth. Fire extinguishers are fixed in buildings to fight raging fire. The hose reel systems have trunk which sprinkle water. The fire fighting system included tanks , pumps and pipes. These tanks and pipes are operated using motor engines. The sprayer consists of sprinkler rose and glass bulbs. As soon as sprinkle started flow switches initiates to ring the bells.

If we consider the case of electrical fires , the automated carbon-dioxide system sprinkle carbon-dioxide gas into the rooms. Exhaust fans are used to diverted smoke in kitchen. Sprinklers are used in buildings to sense smoke and then sprinkle water. Many heat and smoke detectors systems are fix in buildings to detect fire.There are many types of fire fighting systems which are used as per the type of fire caused.


The two common types of extinguisher are consist of carbon-dioxide and pressurised dry chemical extinguishers. These are used as per type of fire used which includes class A, B, C, D and K.

Class A — Burning of paper, plastic etc an ordinary materials.

Class B — Flaming due to flammable liquids like kerosene , gasoline

Class C — It include those accidents which are caused due to electrical appliances, short circuits , hot plates etc.

Class D — Caused by flammable metals like potassium , sodium etc. They are considered as dangerous as it burns at high temperature.

Class K — It is categorised as kitchen fires.

The fire fighting systems must used with proper care against all types of fire. For instance -

Class A type — water extinguishers , Foam extinguisher

Class B type — dry chemical extinguishers , Foam extinguishers

Class C type — dry chemical extinguishers , CO2 extinguisher

Class D type — dry chemical extinguishers

Class K — Wet chemical extinguishers

Thus it is very important to understand how to utilise the equipment as may vary as per the type of fire. There are many online sites which provides fire fighting systems at affordable rates which are used in corporate offices and homes.
