Class A — Burning of paper, plastic etc an ordinary materials.
Class B — Flaming due to flammable liquids like kerosene , gasoline
Class C — It include those accidents which are caused due to electrical appliances, short circuits , hot plates etc.
Class D — Caused by flammable metals like potassium , sodium etc. They are considered as dangerous as it burns at high temperature.
Class K — It is categorised as kitchen fires.
The fire fighting systems must used with proper care against all types of fire. For instance -
Class A type — water extinguishers , Foam extinguisher
Class B type — dry chemical extinguishers , Foam extinguishers
Class C type — dry chemical extinguishers , CO2 extinguisher
Class D type — dry chemical extinguishers
Class K — Wet chemical extinguishers
